Military Ball

The Military Ball was a tri-service social event in early spring involving the Army, Navy, and Air Force ROTC units during the late 1950s and early 1960s. It was a demonstration of cohesion between the three branches.

Just as glamorous as UCLA’s actual Homecoming, each branch chose queens from their respective auxiliary units (see Anchors) during the night. The commanding officer of each ROTC unit crowned them as honorary commanders of their respective unit for the duration of the evening.
